Advanced Hydraulic Fracturing Technology for Unconventional Tight Gas Reservoirs (07122-33)

Texas A&M University - Principal Investigator:  Dr. Ding Zhu

Objective:  To develop new methods for creating extensive, conductive hydraulic fractures in unconventional tight gas reservoirs by synergistically combining the analysis of historical data with the results of laboratory experimentations using an entirely new conductivity test – the “dynamic fracture conductivity test”, and developing design models to implement the optimal fracture treatments.

Period of Performance:  September 3, 2008 to September 2, 2012
