Seismic Stimulation to Enhance Oil Recovery (07123-06)

Objective:  This project seeks to determine if seismic stimulation can increase oil production in mature oil fields where production is declining.  The major objectives of this project are to perform a well-controlled field test of seismic stimulation in a mature oil field, and to provide modeling and understanding of the mechanisms involved to determine where seismic stimulation might be best applied.
