Explore the Arctic Now

A recent report by the Department of Energy's National Petroleum Council says that American operators should begin drilling in the Arctic now to avoid the risk of dependence on foreign oil. The report predicts that the U.S.  shale boom is unlikely to last much more than a decade. "To remain globally competitive and to be positioned to provide global leadership and influence in the Arctic, the U.S. should facilitate exploration in the offshore Alaskan Arctic now."
