Hurricane Matthew is expected to hit Cuba and Jamaica on Monday, and move into the Gulf of Mexico. Hurricane Matthew is predicted to be the most powerful storm in the Gulf since Hurricane Felix in 2007. The U.S. Navy has evacuated all non-essential personnel and families from it Guantanamo Bay base. Haiti has evacuated people for all small islands off its coast. Jamaica is preparing for high winds and water and its only oil refinery near Kingston is in the path of potential damage. Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness said, "The hurricane will cause an interruption, obviously, in our economic activities here,” tourism and agriculture are expected to be the most affected. Hurricane Matthew appeared to be weakening slightly over the weekend.
