Iranian Sanctions Lifted

Sanctions against the Islamic Republic were lifted on Saturday by the world powers because Iran has complied with agreements to curb its nuclear ambitions. Lifting sanctions and a prisoner deal to reduce hostility between Iran and Washington were part of the deal reached earlier in 2015. According to the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency, "Iran has carried out all measures required under the (July deal) to enable Implementation Day (of the deal) to occur." “Tehran also announced the release of five Americans including Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian as part of a prisoner swap with the United States.” Tens of billions of dollars’ worth of Iranian assets will be unfrozen across the world powers to encourage trade with Iran.
