New Technology for Tank Cleaning

M-1 SWACO has developed a new technology for cleaning tanks on supply vessels. The technology will be safer, more effective and reduce the environmental footprint. Statoil has awarded a $55.7 million contract to implement the technology to M-1 SWACO a branch of Schlumberger. The automatic system eliminates personnel entering the tanks to clean the. Wash water and soap are separated from the tank waste and recycled. Jone Stangeland, vice president of logistics and emergency preparedness at Statoil said, “The solution increases the safety of our personnel as there is no need to enter the tanks and we reduce both time use and costs.”
