Some operators in the eastern Gulf of Mexico began returning workers to offshore platforms as Hurricane Hermine movers towards Florida and turns north along the Atlantic coast. Anadarko Petroleum began retuning non-essential personnel to Marco Polo, Constitution and Heidelberg facilities on to Thursday and Independence platform on Friday. Royal Dutch Shell and Enbridge began returning personnel late Wednesday as the hurricane moved away from their operations. Shell’s Coulomb field and Na Kika platform will remain shut down until downstream operations resume. BP opened its Atlantis platform on Wednesday and re-opens the Destin pipeline on Friday. BHP Billiton and other companies that had evacuated facilities are monitoring the storm track.
