Oil Companies Challenge Hydraulic Fracking Regulations

The Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) and Western Energy Alliance sued the U.S. Interior Department on Friday, March 20 when the Obama administration announced the new regulations for hydraulic fracturing on public lands.  New regulations require operating companies to provide data on chemical used in hydraulic fracturing and prevent leakage from oil and gas wells on public lands. The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Wyoming.
