Details for "2009 Alliance Expo & Annual Meeting"

The Texas Alliance of Energy Producers became a statewide organization in 2000 with the merger of two of the oldest oil and gas associations in the nation, the North Texas Oil and Gas Association and the West Central Texas Oil and Gas Association.  With over 3,000 members, the Alliance is the largest state oil and gas associations in the nation. The Alliance has three offices to serve the needs of its members: Austin, Houston, and our headquarters in Wichita Falls.

The members of the Alliance are the decision-makers in the oil and gas industry. For example, 47% say they are the owner of their company, 13% said they were co-owners and 15% said they were the CEO. Most (52%) said they had been in business more than 30 years. Another 29% said they had been in business 21 to 30 years. Three-out-of-four members are in the exploration & production side of the business. The remaining 25% is made up of drilling and well servicing contractors, service and supply companies, crude oil and natural gas purchasers, accountants, lawyers and bankers.

Two-thirds of the members said they have 10 or less employees, while 5% said they had more than 100 employees. The members of the Alliance are active in the oil and gas business throughout the State of Texas and beyond. Eighty-three percent said they have operations in South Texas (Railroad Commission Districts 1 – 4), 35% in East Texas (RRC Districts 5 & 6), 73% in North Texas (RRC District 9), 92% in West Texas.  Additionally, Alliance members said they operate in Oklahoma (44%), New Mexico (32%), Louisiana (27%) and other states (53%).
