Details for "Ultra-Deepwater Met-Ocean TAC Quarterly Meeting"
The Met-Ocean Technical Advisory Committee's (TAC) goal is to improve knowledge and modeling capabilities of the GOM circulation, which will provide more accurate facility design criteria and reduce downtime during deepwater drilling operations. Focus is the effects of changing weather patterns on hurricane severity, operational 3-D current forecast modeling capable of simulating the loop/eddies, and modeling for strong near-bottom currents.
The purpose of the meeting is to go over progress on our two projects (DW1801 Effect of Global Warming on Hurricane Activity – awarded and DW2801 Gulf 3-D Operational Current Model Pilot – funded but not yet released for bid) and to develop a plan for future research projects. Much of that planning will be done in the morning in the CASE-EJIP meeting. Chris Haver, RPSEA Vice President, Ultra-Deepwater, and Art Schroeder, RPSEA Technology Commercialization Manager, Ultra-Deepwater and Met-Ocean liaison, will attend.
You must RSVP by January 15 to attend.
Parking
All non-Chevron attendees should park in the visitor's parking lot located on Fournace at gate 1. Next, please enter in the front of the building and proceed to the security desk where you will be asked to provide your name and photo ID. Security will give you a visitor's badge to enter the appropriate meeting room - please return the badge to security after the meeting.
