AAPG Annual Convention & Exhibition 2008

2008 AAPG

The American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and its Divisions, along with SEPM (Society for Sedimentary Geology) and your host, the South Texas Geological Society, invite all energy industry professionals to attend the 2008 AAPG Annual Convention in San Antonio, Texas, April 20-23, 2008. The weather, scenery and cultural activities are outstanding at this time of year, providing the perfect backdrop for a multitude of planned activities. The convention plans to “Deliver the Conventional; Pursue the Unconventional” and do it with a heavy dose of fun!

San Antonio is located in south-central Texas and provides quick access to several major producing basins. A broad spectrum of geology and a variety of reservoir types, from conventional shallow oil and deep natural gas reservoirs to tremendous unconventional shale gas plays, are within a three-hour drive of San Antonio. Our field trips will place you at the sites of some classic, as well as some unique, rock sequences, geological processes and economic resource endeavors. Our short courses will prime you for the future with a broad selection of topics, from analytical methods for conventional and unconventional petroleum systems to ethics, safety and computer applications.

We invite you and your guests to join us as we deliver the conventional and pursue the unconventional in true Texas fashion.
