Low Impact Oil & Gas Operations in Environmentally Sensitive Areas Forum

This forum will focus on how to reduce the environmental footprint of oil & gas operations and environmentally friendly drilling systems.  It will combine a Crisman Institute briefing of the Texas A&M industry joint venture together with a technical discussion of the needs for low impact operations.   A distinguished panel of experts has been assembled to discuss and address specifics in environmentally friendly drilling systems, optimizing surface options to land forms and assessing the public’s perception of O&G activities in sensitive areas.

This forum will be the last of our series that will provide input to our 2009 annual planning process.  While there will be additional forums this year, because of timing, the results of these additional forums will provide input to our 2010 program.

Click on the following RPSEA link for a copy of the forum agenda, http://www.rpsea.org/en/cev/?86.

This forum will be held at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas in Room 309 of the Richardson Building.  Due to room capacity registration for this forum will be limited.

You must register for this forum in advance by e-mailing Kathy Beladi directly at kathy@pe.tamu.edu. There is no direct online registration for this forum.

Web conferencing of the morning forum sessions will be available for those who cannot attend in person.  Unfortunately, web conferencing will not be available for the afternoon sessions so only those actually attending the forum will be able to participate in the afternoon sessions.  If you intend to web conference, you still must register with Kathy Beladi at the above e-mail address so she can distribute instructions and the web conferencing link to you.  Driving directions along with directions for parking will also be forwarded to those who register.

In addition to the forum, all forum participants are invited to join us for a reception the evening before the forum (reception hours are from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on May 29).  This reception, which will be held at the Hilton College Station (801 University Drive East), will be held jointly with the Texas A&M University’s Environmentally Friendly Drilling Program which is hosting the Disappearing Roads Competition on May 29.  This reception will provide an opportunity for our forum participants to interact with the finalists and judges of this competition, who will be attending the event.  An announcement of this event, along with an agenda, has been included above as attachments.  RPSEA encourages its members to attend this event and meet the university team members who will present their concepts for a disappearing road to a panel of judges.  Please register for the reception to Connie Conaway at connie@pe.tamu.edu.
